Yes, you will have to be talking with each other to coordinate a trade together. If you want to trade with a friend online, follow the same instructions listed above, but make sure you both choose "Yes, with a Link Code" and enter the same exact link code. Alternatively, you can interact with someone who has made the Trade call to activate a trade as well.
